Registrar Services

Your academic record, handled with care.

Understand CIU’s stated records policy and how to begin an official transcript request.

Academic records

A permanent account of your studies.

The Registrar prepares, maintains, and permanently retains a record of each student’s academic work. CIU’s legacy policy states that physical files of pertinent documents are maintained for up to six years following the last date of attendance or last enclosure, whichever is later.

An academic transcript is the complete and permanent academic record of undergraduate and/or graduate work completed at CIU.

Privacy & delivery

Records are confidential.

Under the stated student privacy policy, a transcript is issued only to the person named in it or sent to another institution at that person’s request. Transcripts requested for another institution are described as being mailed directly to that institution in a sealed envelope.

Identity checks may be required. Ask the Registrar which identification, authorization, fees, and delivery details are currently needed.
